THE LAUNCH VEHICLE DETAILS

Rocket details

Winners’ postcards are launched on a German launcher, a unique Hybrid sounding rocket. This is environment friendly as it uses Paraffin-based fuel and liquid oxygen to send your payload to a sub-orbital flight!
Winners' 3D models are launched on European launcher Skyrora. Skyrora rockets are called as Skylark L and Skyrora XL. Skylark L is designed to carry 50kg (equivalent to an average sized cheetah) of payload into a microgravity environment and has the ability to reach the edge of Space! Skyrora XL vehicle is a three stage polar orbital launch vehicle that has the ability to carry up 315kg of payload into a 500km sun-synchronous orbit. Both are fuelled by a combination of Hydrogen Peroxide and Kerosene. The most inspiring part is: Skyrora plans to replace Kerosene with Ecosene in the future, an equivalent fuel that is made from unrecyclable plastic waste.
